My name is Brooklyn Sherman. I was born and raised in Detroit, and I now happily reside in Los Angeles, California. My fascination with relationships started when I fell in love for the first time at the tender age of 16. I continued to date my high school sweetheart well into college, and when we broke up I thought my world had come to a crashing end. It was my first love, and at such a young age my feelings and emotions were overly heightened – everyone’s are. I’ve always lived my life with passion, and all of a sudden I had nowhere to put all that passion I had held for him. It left me completely broken. However, that heartbreak led to one of the biggest turning points in my life. As the story often goes, we learn the most about who we are, what we’re capable of, and how much strength we have in our times of struggle. I’ve fallen in love since then and have been in a few more long term relationships. Each one of them has taught me something new about myself and forced me to evolve as a person. However, one thing about me always remains the same: I love love.
I think we should always be in love. And not just with people, but with life.
Creating ‘The Way We Met’ has become my love for now, and it has fulfilled me in so many ways. TWWM’s community is filled with some of the most compassionate, caring, and supportive individuals I’ve ever come across. I have had the pleasure of getting to know so many amazing people from all over the world and hearing their stories. Everyone’s journey is unique, but they each have their own element of magic. I’m so appreciative for those who has been so open and vulnerable when sharing their experiences with me – love is beautiful, but it often isn’t easy. You have opened my eyes to so much, forced me to re-think what I thought I knew, and, most importantly, you continue to remind me to never give up on love. Every couple meets, somehow.
